Dr. Mark Edney

mark_edney.jpg Dr. Mark Edney is the Wicomico County Central Committee's First Vice Chair and he serves on the bylaws committee for the Maryland State Party. Dr. Edney will be speaking on Healthcare related issues at the Wicomicomo Republican Club Meeting on Monday May 22nd at 7pm at the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. So come out and meet Mark.

Mark Edney, MD, MBA has been a resident of Wicomico County since 2004. He grew up in New Hampshire, attended St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH and attended both medical school and urology residency at Dartmouth in Hanover, NH. He and his wife Ashley have three children.

Dr. Edney’s military career as an Army Reserve medical officer included three active duty tours: Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2004, 399th Combat Support Hospital- Mosul, Iraq in 2006, and Tripler Army Medical Center 2009.

He has had extensive experience in medical political advocacy in both Annapolis and Washington. He has advocated on behalf of both state and national urological associations. He has also testified in both the US House and US Senate Veterans Affairs Committees on behalf of veterans who have returned from theater with urological injuries.

Locally, he is an officer of the medical staff at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, former Chief of Surgery and current Medical Director of the Surgery Service Line. He is a past board member of the United Way of the Lower Easter Shore and continues to lead its 100 Docs fundraising campaign as well its health literacy collaboration with PRMC and Salisbury 

He was elected to the Wicomico County Republican Central Committee in 2014 and serves as its vice-chair.
