Wicomico County Republicans elected a new Central Committee in the June 26, 2018 Primary Election. Four individuals, Mark McIver, David Goslee, Julie Brewington and School Board Member John Palmer were all re-elected. Five individuals, Wicomico County Council Vice-President Larry Dodd, Salisbury City Council Vice-President Muir Boda, Wendy Anspacher, Linda Luffman and Shawn Bradley were all elected to their first term on the Central Committee.
We congratulate these individuals on being elected and appreciate their willingness to serve over the next four years. Jim Jester, Central Committee Secretary Nate Sansom and Joan Gentile did not make the top nine but we are appreciative of their willingness to serve and look forward to their continued involvement in the Republican Party.
David Bossie, the Deputy Campaign Manager for President Donald Trump was the featured speaker at the Wicomico GOP Lincoln Day Dinner. Over 130 people were in attendance including many state and local elected officials as well as several candidates for office.
Bossie talked about his time working on President Trump's campaign and that special moment on election night in 2016 when they knew that they had won. He also encouraged everyone to put campaign rhetoric from 2016 behind them and focus on re-electing Governor Hogan. Mr. Bossie stated that his number one priority as the MDGOP National Committeeman is to ensure Governor Hogan is re-elected and to pick up five State Senate seats to ensure a veto override proof minority in the General Assembly.
Central Committee Vice-Chair Dr. Mark Edney recently wrote an opinion piece in the Daily Times on Healthcare.
The only bipartisan activity in Washington right now is hand wringing over health care.
The Republican-controlled Senate has demonstrated itself incompetent to the task of repealing/replacing/improving upon a piece of Democrat incompetence: the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, aka Obamacare.
