Governor to appoint Members to the Wicomico County Board of Elections

For Immediate Release January 9th, 2019

Salisbury, MD:  The Wicomico County Republican Central Committee (WCRCC) will be accepting resumes to conduct interviews for the Wicomico County Board of Elections as the current terms will be expiring for all members on the board.  With the reelection of Governor Larry Hogan the Republican Party will have three members on the Board of Elections in Wicomico County, which has a board of five members who are appointed by the Governor.  The local Central Committees of both the Republican and Democratic Parties are charged with interviewing and submitting their recommendations to the Governor.


To be considered for appoint to the Board of Elections each candidate must be a registered voter in their political party and have resided in that county for a minimum of three years.  Candidates also have other restrictions such as they cannot be an elected official or candidate for public office as this is a compensated position at $4,000.00 per year.  Board Members are required to attend regular meetings at both the state and local levels and are charged with overseeing the operation of the Wicomico Board of Elections and the elections themselves.

Candidates must submit a resume by Friday, January 25th, 2019 to WCRCC by mail or email to WCRCC Chairman Mark McIver or any member of the Central Committee.
